MEEK MILL ALBUM REVIEW DREAMS & NIGHTMARES

PHILLY'S MEEK MILL DEBUT ALBUM RELEASED TODAY "DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES" FROM MMG RECORDS.  THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ALBUM IS FINALLY HERE!!!  THE ALBUM IS 14 SONGS DEEP OR IF YOU GET THE BONUS EDITION IT'S 16 SONGS DEEP.  THE ALBUM IS HEAVY ON THE FEATURES WITH 12 DIFFERENT ARTISTS.
THE ALBUM'S INTRO SONG "DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES" IS A STANDOUT SONG WITH MEEK GIVING YOU 2 VERSES STARTING OUT WITH HIM RAPPING HUMBLING ABOUT HIM LIVING HIS DREAM AND VERSE 2 HE GOES RIGHT INTO IT RAPPING HARD AND DAMN NEAR SCREAMING  ABOUT HIS NIGHTMARES.  IT'S A GOOD CONCEPT AND A GOOD INTRO TO A DEBUT ALBUM.  THE PRODUCTION ON THE ALBUM IS ON POINT.  MEEK MILL IS AT HIS BEST WHEN RAPPING ABOUT HIS REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES LIKE THE SONG "TRAUMATIZED" WHERE HE IS TALKING ABOUT HIS FATHER GETTING KILLED.  THE SONG "YOUNG AND GETTING IT" IS A CLUB BANGER FAILED ATTEMPT, MEEK IS ON THE SONG USING AUTO-TUNE WHICH IS NOT NEEDED.  SURPRISINGLY MEEK HELD HIS OWN ON THE SONG "MAYBACH CURTAINS" FEATURING NAS AND RICK ROSS WITH JOHN LEGEND SINGING ON THE HOOK.  IT WAS GOOD THAT MEEK SLOWED DOWN HIS FLOW ON THAT SMOOTH MELO SONG.  I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH "TONY STORY" PT 2, IT WASN'T BAD BUT PART 1 WAS JUST SO MUCH BETTER.  IT ALMOST FELT LIKE HE WAS KINDA BITING OFF THE GROUP THE FIRM SONG "PHONE TAP" WITH THE EFFECT ON HIS VOICE.  AT FIRST  I WAS FEELING THE SONG "WHO YOU AROUND" FEATURING MARY J. BLIGE BUT I'M SORRY MRS MARY J HAS FELL OFF, I DON'T KNOW WHY RAPPERS KEEP REACHING OUT TO HER FOR A FEATURE.  MY FAVORITE SONG ON THE ALBUM IS "POLO & SHELL TOPS" WHERE MEEK IS TALKING ABOUT HUSTLING AND GRINDING, ITS A HOT ASS BEAT AND THE CONTENT IS GOOD BUT STILL THE TYPICAL MEEK SHIT.   OVERALL THE ALBUM IS A GOOD LISTEN BUT FAR FROM A CLASSIC, IT'S A MIXTAPE WITH A BARCODE.  MEEK MILL HAS A LOT OF GROWING TO DO AS AN ARTIST  BEFORE HE CAN PRODUCE A REAL GOOD SOLID ALBUM.  HIS DEBUT IS NOT AS STRONG AS PHILLY'S BEANIE SIGEL DEBUT ALBUM "THE TRUTH" OR EVE'S DEBUT ALBUM "LET THERE BE EVE".  MEEK MILL MUSIC LACKS GOOD SOLID CONTENT AND HE IS NOT CREATIVE ENOUGH BUT HOPEFULLY HE WILL GET THERE.  I WOULD RATE HIS DEBUT A 7 WITH A 10 BEING THE HIGHEST RATING.
