MR 100: OK I SEE YOU REPPIN' THE BRONX THE BIRTHPLACE OF HIP HOP, WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE BRONX RAPPERS?
Y.O.: Mannn! That was the hardest time in my life! After the 1st loss, my bro AP, i was still hungry because he's the one that put me on! I had to go hard for him! When my man Frankie Gunz died i knew life would never be the same because it was bigger than music with him...that was my brother! We been thru it all together! I was fucked up! I had to fall back for a while to get my mind right because even tho i had a lot of people supporting me, i felt all alone in the world! I still think about them everyday til this day but I finally snapped out of it a few months ago. I had a long convo with myself. I said "It's now or never Y!" I know i wasted a lot of irreplaceable time but i wasn't ready! I feel like at this point in my career my music is on the level it needs to be on and I'm starvin' again. Music is all i know, I'm determined to make something happen!
Y.O.: Me & Serious record at the same studio downtown. Shout out 2 Stush Music! Stush basically told me he could get Serious to get on an unfinished song i had. He made the call, we spoke & the next day we laid it down! I never got to meet Max! I'm mad I didn't cuz that's my guy! I'm cool with his manager, Masar, so he basically hooked it up! Masar & Max were impressed with how the song (Live 4 the Moment) came out! I told the world this is the best sounding Max B jail verse!
Y.O.: Still to this day 2pac! But if i had to exclude him, I'd say Jadakiss or Fab!
Y.O.: Everybody is a rapper these days! Everybody is shooting videos! ...i think what will separate me from a lot of these guys is i can spit and make songs! I can show my artistic side on wax and paint pictures for you! I been making music on & off for almost 10 years and I've never been more confident in my work than i am now! I would bump into Styles P, Jadakiss and Sheek in Yonkers and i always keep it humble with them because i wasn't ready to present them with anything! Not that i thought my music was bad, it's just i step out of Y.O all the time and listen to my music! Like, if i heard this song on the radio or mixtape would i listen to it or skip it? I got in that mind state and even got in that mind state when it came to picking beats! I'm ready for the big leagues now! I also have a great cameraman! Shout out 2 Kenny K! (KenKeelerJR.com) We just finished our 2nd video together called "Another Nite" produced by my dogg EZ Wider and it's gonna be extra wavy! So my answer to your question is if i keep putting out good music, good videos, being seen and start hitting these streets/clubs OT then i should rise!
Y.O.: It's done! I'm looking to put it out in the summer tho! I got my publicist, Q The Question, promoting songs for me! I'm dropping a new song every week and a half, 2 weeks and I'm basically trying to build my buzz up before i drop the project because it's too good to fall on deaf ears! I gotta keep it 100! All the time, money, grind & networking will be all for nothing if i drop it now! My brother DJ Daze did most of the production and it's sick! The way a lot of these upcoming rappers move is corny! I understand you gotta promote your records but think outside the box homie! My campaign this spring, summer is gonna be like nothing you ever seen! I got the greatest help in the world! In the meantime I'm still making new music! I just linked up with a producer from Paris named MOH Beatmaker. Me and him got a few for u!
Y.O.: I appreciate the opportunity you've given me today! Shout Out 2 Mr 100! You can find Ya man Y on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud & ReverbNation @OhNoiTsYO (Oh No iTs Y.O) Understand that I'm an artist that's tryin' 2 get it so if I don't follow you back please don't take it personal!
