PUSHA T ALBUM REVIEW "MY NAME IS MY NAME"

PUSHA T ALBUM "MY NAME IS MY NAME" IS FINALLY HERE!!  PUSHA T BEEN SAYING IN INTERVIEWS ALL YEAR HIS ALBUM WILL BE THE BEST ALBUM RELEASED THIS YEAR.  THOSE ARE BOLD WORDS SAID BEING AS THOUGH THIS YEAR HIP HOP WAS BLESSED WITH MORE THAN A FEW EXCELLENT SOLID ALBUMS, WITH RELEASES BY J. COLE,  JAY-Z, WALE, MAC MILLER AND NOT REALLY MY FAVORITE BUT DRAKE TOO.

THIS IS PUSHA T'S FIRST OFFICIAL SOLO ALBUM SINCE HE PART WAYS WITH HIS BROTHER MALICE WHO DECIDED TO GET MORE INTO HIS CHRISTIAN FAITH AND MAKE MUSIC THAT'S NOT DOPE MUSIC BUT MORE POSITIVE AND THOUGHT PROVOKING.

THE ALBUM IS 12 SONGS WITH ABOUT 12 FEATURES WHICH I'M NOT A FAN OF.  I USUALLY DON'T LIKE WHEN A RAPPER RELEASE THEIR FIRST SOLO EFFORT WITH SO MANY FEATURES, CAUSE WHEN YOU FIRST COME OUT AS A SOLO ARTIST,  YOU WANT THE FAN TO BE ABLE TO FOCUS MORE ON THE ARTIST.  BUT I MUST SAY PUSHA T DID SUCH A EXCELLENT JOB WITH HIS LYRICS AND CONCEPTS THAT HE REALLY OUT SHINES EVERYONE WHO IS FEATURED ON HIS SONGS.

THE FIRST 5 SONGS KEEP YOU VERY ENTERTAINED AND WANTING TO PUSH THE REPEAT BUTTON.  I WOULD LIKE TO APPLAUD THE PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ARRANGEMENT OF THE ALBUM, THEY DID A TERRIFIC JOB, IT'S VERY ON POINT.

MANY PEOPLE THINK OF PUSHA T AS A RAPPER WHO ONLY RAPS ABOUT DEALING DOPE,  BUT TRULY HE IS A DOPE LYRICIST.  HE MAY SPIT THAT DOPE DEALING RAP BUT HE DOES IT MUCH BETTER THAN ANYBODY ELSE WHO TRIES IT.  HE HAS A GOOD WAY OF TELLING HIS STORY WHILE USING DEEP METAPHORS.

OUT OF 12 SONGS I'M FEELING 10 SONGS, I WOULD SAY THATS A VERY HOT ALBUM.  AND I MEAN THE TWO SONGS I'M NOT FEELING ARE NOT BAD I JUST DON'T THINK THEY REALLY FIT WITH THE ALBUM.  THE TWO SONGS I'M NOT FEELING ARE "LET ME LOVE YOU" FT KELLY ROWLAND, IT SOUNDS LIKE MASE ON THE SECOND VERSE, BUT I'M NOT REALLY SURE CAUSE HE IS NOT LISTED IN THE CREDITS, YEAH I'M NOT FEELING IT BECAUSE IT REALLY SOUNDS MORE LIKE A SONG FOR KELLY'S ALBUM,  THIS ALBUM TOO DARK FOR THIS SONG.  THE OTHER SONG IS "NO REGRETS" FT YOUNG JEEZY AND KEVIN COSSOM,  I JUST DON'T LIKE THIS ONE, THE HOOK WITH THE AUTO TUNE ON WITH KEVIN COSSOM SINGING IS WEAK.

MY STANDOUT TRACKS WHERE I GOTTA REPEAT THEM ARE:

NOSETALGIA FT KENDRICK LAMAR (PRODUCED BY NOTTZ)

SWEET SERENADE FT CHRIS BROWN (PRODUCED BY SWIZZ BEATS)

HOLD ON FT RICK ROSS (PRODUCED BY HUDSON MOHAWKE AND KANYE WEST)

NUMBERS ON THE BOARD (PRODUCED BY DON CANNON AND KANYE WEST)

40 ACRES FT THE-DREAM (PRODUCED BY THE-DREAM)

SUICIDE FT AB-LIVA (PRODUCED BY PHARRELL)

OVERALL PUSHA T LIVED UP TO HIS WORDS ON DROPPING A HOT DOPE ALBUM,  ALBUM OF THE YEAR I DON'T KNOW YET,  I GOT TO STILL LET THIS ALBUM MARINATE IN MY EARS,  BUT I'M VERY PLEASED TO SAY HIP HOP IS FINALLY GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
