Meek Mill finally releases his long awaited mixtape "Dreamchasers 4", the fourth installment to his dreamchasers series. The mixtape is 14 songs deep with 12 featured artists. Nothing much has changed about Meek's content which I'm not surprised, I was looking more for the growth. I expected Meek's growth as an artist would've have matured by now. Meek is at his best when he raps with passion about real issues going on in his life. On the song "Shine" he displays this well with lines like:  if it wasn't for this music, I probably be dead/ instead I'm on top counting this bread/ its no roof so they can see me shine. It's no denying Meek's talent, I want to hear more from him than songs about jewelry and clothes. The standout song on the mixtape is "Two Wrongs" featuring Pusha T and Guordan Banks, Meek raps: they murdered my dad and converted me menace/ So when they come serve me my sentence/ I bet I won't tell 'em a word of my business/ I'll rot in that cell till they burn me my nigga. Everything about that song is on point, the beat, lyrics and hook. I was disappointed with "Tony Story 3", I always thought "Tony Story" is one of his top songs in his catalog cause it showed Meek's story telling skills and not many rappers can pull off one with great creativity. But this 3rd story was weak and the production was dry, it wasn't dramatic enough. The song "Froze" featuring Lil Uzi Vert and Nicki Minaj is dope with hot production that should have the clubs on smash! I see this song being his single. It was good to hear bars from Lil Snupe on the "Outro", it's sad he died, he definitely had a promising career ahead of him. Overall, I'm feeling 6 songs out of 14 songs. I'm just glad Meek released some music instead of going back and fourth with drama with the recent rap beef with The Game and Beanie Sigel. Make sure ya'll go listen, download or buy it!
