MR100: Whats good Kevin 11?
KEV: Whats good Mr 100, I'm doing good!
KEV: I took it for my name, my birth name is Kevin William Booth II. The 2nd looks like an 11 so basically I took certain parts of my birth name and made it my stage name as well. I'm not that creative to come up with some random moniker
MR100: Which city do you rep?
KEV: I'm from a small town in New Jersey, Williamstown, NJ. Its really called South Jersey around my way. In New Jersey it's like 2 different states, people from the north refer to themselves as north jersey and us in the south refer to ourselves as south jersey.
MR100: How would you describe your style?
KEV: My style is unique, I have pretty much a different perspective than everyone else rapping. I'm not from the hood so I'm not coming from a hood mindset or point of view. Not many people have that perspective in today's era so my style is more of a breath of fresh air
MR100: Who are your biggest musically influences?
KEV: I don't necessarily have any influences however I did grow up listening to Eminem, 50 Cent & G-unit, I was a big fan of the G-Unit movement in the early 2000s. I do admire the Jay Z's and Drake's of the game today because of everything they have been able to accomplish in music. Both of them have become more than just rapper's their brands now...what did Hov say? "I'm not a business man, I'm a business damn!" That's my goals, to be able to exist outside of music as well. I want Kevin 11 to be a brand that people can identify with.
MR100: Do you have any other talents besides rapping?
KEV: That's a good question, I'm not as good as I used to be but I can play basketball pretty well..also I can record and edit videos. I'm also good being a business man and conducting business with other people. That's pretty much the extent to my other talents outside of making music.
MR100: When will you be releasing a album?
KEV: I do see an album coming out in the future, but as of right now, I'm just focused on getting quality singles out there and getting those singles buzzing in the streets. But fans of Kevin 11 can definitely expect a Kevin 11 album to come out in the future.
MR100: Do you plan to get signed by a major record label or just remain indie?
KEV: I honestly do not know at this point. The business man in me will take the deal that makes the most sense. If that's with a major label, that's great, if it's staying independent, that's great as well. We live in a day and age where artists have both options available and that's what I love most about the current music climate today, Your not forced to go one route or the other, you can kind of carve out your own map for yourself and be your own boss.
MR100: Who were you talking about on your song "Fake Love"?
KEV: I wasn't talking about anyone in specific but that song is about those people who show love to your face but want to talk shit about you behind your back or on social media. I know personally I'll see people on social media saying I'm wack and this and that, which is fine I'll never be upset for someone having an opinion, but then ill see them in public and they want to act like their my biggest fan and what to be apart of what I have going on..I'm like bro all this love your showing me is fake right now, I rather you just dap me up and keep it moving no need to waste my time with fake compliments and fake promises.
MR100: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years as an artist?
KEV: I see myself headlining a tour, having multiple albums out that the general public is aware of. I have a lot of ideas of where I will be at in 5 years but I try not to get too ahead of myself. I take it one day at a time, I make a daily goal list of things that I must accomplish, it helps keep me on schedule with what I'm doing. I deff do see myself worth a hell of a lot more money then I'm worth now.
KEV: Thank you for the interview I look forward to talking to you again..any fans can reach me on all social media @itskevkev11..Facebook, twitter, Instagram, snapchat, etc. Interact with me I interact back. I love to interact with the fans, I'm not one of these artists that's too good to talk with the fans and I can take criticism as well as praise, Ill never call you a hater for giving an opinion! As long as its coming from a good place
